Wait in the Clearing...

‘Tis the season of drying winds, melting snow, intensifying sun. Buds appear, then wait, holding their breath for a more reliable warmth. Humans are like that, too. We sense a greater need for service to our communities, feel ourselves leaning in, then wonder…what exactly am I being called to do? ChIME’s core program helps our communities by creating space for callings to become clear. But we’re not only waiting. Our student interns and our graduates are serving refugees, the homeless, the dying and the barely surviving….right now!

Clearing

Do not try to save
the whole world
or do anything grandiose.
Instead, create
a clearing
in the dense forest
of your life
and wait there
patiently,
until the song
that is your life
falls into your own cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.
Only then will you know
how to give yourself
to this world
so worthy of rescue.
