Dana Sawyer, former professor of religious studies at Maine College of Art (MECA), will present an overview of the Abrahamic Traditions: the origins of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, including methods of comparative analysis of religious practices. Learn how the three are connected and how they developed into three distinct paths.

Professor Sawyer teaches courses in philosophy and taught world religions for MECA while sharing his wisdom with ChIME for years.  He authored the biography of Huston Smith (author of The World Religions) titled "Wisdomkeeper" as well as a biography on Aldous Huxley. He has traveled extensively in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Japan. He has lectured at the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, Banaras Hindu University, the University of Riga, Latvia, the Huntington Library, and at colleges at conferences throughout the U.S.
