Join world religions expert and MECA professor Dana Sawyer in a day-long journey, history and overview of Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Dana Sawyer, faculty member at Maine College of Art, will present the origins of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, including methods of comparative analysis of religious practices. Learn how the three are connected and how they developed into three distinct paths. Professor Sawyer teaches courses in philosophy and world religions for MECA and has shared his wisdom with ChIME for years. He authored the biography of Huston Smith (author of The World Religions) as well as a biography on Aldous Huxley. Professor Sawyer has traveled extensively in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Japan. He has lectured at the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, Banaras Hindu University, the University of Riga, Latvia, the Huntington Library, and at colleges at conferences throughout the U.S.
