Recent research has shown New Englanders to be among the “least churched” people in the nation, with approximately three out of every four having no connection to a local mosque, synagogue, sangha or church. Whether they identify as spiritual or not, people without religious affiliations may wish for the services of an Interfaith chaplain when they are in crisis or when they have something to discern, celebrate, or mourn. This is the community need that ChIME graduates meet, and it’s growing every year.

Also known as Interfaith Officiants or Celebrants, ChIME graduates are trained to invite inter-spirituality, to respect people from any of the world’s various faith traditions, and to assist people without religious traditions in identifying their own beliefs in preparation for various life transitions and celebrations. Since 2002 ChIME has educated and ordained 186 Interfaith Ministers who serve in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and in a number of other states.

ChIME assumes no responsibility for alumni volunteer or professionally contracted services.
