November 1, 2008 - Shamanism Workshop
Dory Cote
Shamanic healer Dory Cote will help us to explore the ancient art of shamanism and its applications in modern society and to have the experience of going on more than one shamanic journey during the course of the day.We will review: What is shamanism? What are its roots? What is shamanic healing?
Is shamanism in conflict with other spiritual beliefs? What does it mean to “go on a shamanic journey”?
We will do ceremony together including drumming, rattling and perhaps dancing.
Dory has completed a 3-year program in Advanced Shamanism and Shamanic Healing with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. In addition she has completed a two-year teacher training program with Sandra Ingerman which authorizes her to teach advanced shamanic methods. She has also attended advanced workshops with Hank Wesselman, Tom Cowan, Ailo Gaup, Claude Poncelet, and indigenous shamans from around the world.
Currently Dory has a full time shamanic healing practice in Brunswick, Maine where she works with adults, children, families, groups, and animals. She leads workshops for beginners as well as advanced programs, including apprenticeship programs, for the serious student.
